“Tumkratoei Cambodia” is a dish originating from north-eastern Thailand. All dishes focus on hygiene and taste that meets high quality standards combined with great service. The shop owner is a genuine connoisseur of green papaya salad, so his mission is to seek the best green papaya salad every day during the morning, daytime or nighttime. His challenge to find the best was the constant variation in taste based on the pounder’s state of mind. As his mother sells fish paste, which is a key ingredient for papaya salad, he thought about opening a shop selling the food he loves so much, but the next challenge was what to name his shop! One day, he saw a boy skillfully pounding yummy papaya and that boy also accepted himself as an LGBT person.After chatting with the boy, he realized how this group of people are not widely accepted or valued. Because he appreciated that the boy skills had not yet been given a chance or capital to be openly demonstrated, the owner decided to name his shop “Tumkratoei” to provide an opportunity to those talented LGBT people to showcase their talents to the general public. So not only does the name “Tumkratoei” reflect his social mission, it is also easy to remember, so his final challenge was officially met.
